Deep in the lush forests of Shimanto, a mission to heal the earth sparked a beautiful transformation. Since 2006, the “Yui no Mori” project has carefully thinned overgrown woods to let the sunlight back in and restore the local ecosystem. Instead of letting these precious, thinned trees go to waste, a new vision took root to give them a second life. This is the origin of Yuimori—a heartfelt promise to protect Japan’s natural heritage by turning overlooked timber into something extraordinary.
At its core, Yuimori is about connection, capturing the very essence of the word “Yui”. Designed in collaboration with architect Keiji Ashizawa, the brand bridges the quiet serenity of the forest with the vibrant pulse of human life. It embraces a philosophy of living harmoniously with nature, transforming carefully nurtured resources into warm, inviting furniture. Each piece is crafted to be a natural gathering place, gently bringing people together while keeping the spirit of the woods alive in our everyday spaces.
